On February 9, 2026, His Excellency HABONIMANA, the Ambassador of Burundi to Kenya, participated in a New Year’s diplomatic press briefing of His Excellency William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya, organized for Heads of Diplomatic Missions and International Organizations accredited to the Republic of Kenya.
In his address, His Excellency William Samoei Ruto reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to strengthening its diplomatic cooperation with the international community for shared prosperity.
At the regional level, His Excellency William Samoei Ruto called for urgent international action to restore peace and stability in Sudan through civil initiatives, while stressing the continuation of dialogue and peace efforts in the Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan.
He also reiterated Africa’s long-standing demand for reform of the United Nations Security Council, including a permanent African representation within the Council, which is essential to the relevance of this global body.
